Tyndall Tramway
Open
Ride New Zealand's steepest and most serene railway. Funicular your way up through a native Beech forest. Marvel at the majesty of the mountains as you tram through a tunnel of trees. A great way to start the day and the glide back down makes grateful knees!
Tram hours are 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM and 3:30 to 5:30 PM

Gives access to the lookers left side of the Main basin as well as Ridge Tow and provides stunning views of the possibly haunted Grey range.

A lovely little spinner! Have it silently ascend you to the gnarly lines on Nervous Knob, Allan's Basin, and beyond!

Snow comment:
We are OPEN today with great skiing conditions. We received 10 cm in the upper basin on Thursday night. The skiing is really good especially around Nervous Knob. It's windy so there's a good chance we have some nice wind buff up by the ridge. There is still some fresh snow to be found. Snow is expected to start up again this evening. It's going to be a great weekend at BR!
There will be a large race-type event today around the Downhill area and in the upper basin. Expect to see a lot of wild university kids skiing around and throwing themselves off of kickers and rocks.
PLEASE NOTE- the towlines are narrow and thin. We cannot accomodate beginner nutcracker riders at this time. It is not fun for beginners to learn in these conditions. Please, experienced tow riders and advanced skiers/boarders only! Thank you- BR Staff
