Over 60 years of passion for snowsports and a commitment to quality have created a much loved ski area at Coronet Peak. A multi-million dollar makeover in recent years has elevated this mountain to true international status.

Just 20 minutes’ drive from central Queenstown, Coronet Peak’s stunning base building provides sophisticated facilities and magnificent views of the Wakatipu Basin and beyond. The café, restaurant and bar areas sport floor to ceiling views and open to a massive deck, ideal for relaxing, watching the action and enjoying regular live entertainment.

The country’s largest fully automated snow-making system helps Mother Nature provide consistently good skiing and riding from early June until the end of September.

Coronet Peak is renowned for its rolling terrain providing exhilarating skiing and riding for all levels. A range of programmes and facilities including a fully licensed crèche and all day children’s’ programmes, offers fun and progression for everyone over the age of three months.

The day starts early on the mountain with First Tracks from 8am and on weekends finishes late with Night Skiing on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday until 9pm.

Coronet Peak Tips:

  1. Coronet Peak offers Night skiing and First Tracks, making it the longest opening hours for a New Zealand mountain
  2. If you are looking for tasty snack or lunch on the go, check out the Substation. Located on the Coronet Peak deck, it offers great international flavours and are easy to eat to maximise time out on the snow
  3. Plan your visit to Coronet Peak around June 20nd -23th, as it is the American Express Queenstown Winter Festival. Thousands gather to Queenstown to celebrate the official start to winter with street parties, local and international entertainment acts as well as a Mardi Gras
