The road is clear and open to all to the base of Access Tow - 4WD vehicles with chains can drive on up the Summer Road. Please remember to radio at the container for access onto the Summer Road - it is only single lane. We have 15 car park spaces for day trippers at the towshed as well as a drop off/pick zone - Plus you can still ski back to the main car park at the end of the day.

Snow comment:
Monday September 9th - 4cm of FRESH SNOW and we are OPEN! We have got 4cm of heavy snow this morning smoothed out by some NW winds. It should be a lovely day of skiing at the Playground of the Gods with grippy snow on a hard and fast surface for some classic kiwi skiing! We are optimistic that the remainder of this storm will bring additional snowfall (everyone give a quick offering to whatever you believe in that the Yr that this forecast verifies and not the ECMWF... only the real weather nerds will get that one) so with that in mind please carry chains and be ready for changing road conditions throughout the day. AND please be ready to have operations impacted by translucent precip and thunderstorms this afternoon.
Access Tow is still on Smoko we don't have quite enough snow to get it going, so please drive or walk up the Summer Rd (4WD w/ chains Only) to get to the lifts this morning. Don't forget to radio from the container, and grab a tow belt there too.
