Thanks so much to everyone who came up to Remarks this winter, it was a real pleasure to have you here and share this beautiful mountain with you. Big shout out to our wonderful staff - you’ve been amazing this year, thanks and all the best. We wish everyone a great summer and look forward to seeing you in winter 2026!

Now that we are closed the ski area becomes the backcountry. Over the next few days markers and protection will be removed and both natural and man-made hazards will exist and be unmarked and unprotected. Snow safety has finished, the snow will be uncontrolled.Â
The road will be open, with the tollgate operating, but it will no longer be cleared or managed.Â
There will be no Ski Patrol or Roads crew and no rescue or support services on the hill or the road - in case of emergency dial 111.Â
If you are venturing out, we encourage you to check the Avalanche Advisory (https://www.avalanche.net.nz/region/10) for the latest conditions and ensure you are prepared and equipped for safe backcountry travel. Enjoy, and be safe out there :).
